The Voice of the Lord

In Psalm 29:3-9, we read persistently about the voice of the Lord. What is the voice of the Lord? The voice of the Lord:
Children of God, without hesitation, give glory and honour due to the wonderful name of God. “Give unto the Lord, O you mighty ones, give unto the Lord Glory and Strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness” (v. 1-2).
The Highest will hear our voice and shower His great blessings on us. The God, whose dwelling is in heaven and footstool is on earth, will be highly magnified in our lives. May God have mercy on us and answer our prayers.
[Editor’s Note: While angels in Heaven and the children of God on earth willingly recognize the sovereignty, magnificence and powerfulness of Almighty God, the rest of mankind is reluctant to acknowledge His existence and certainly will not bend their wills to Him. What about the Ten
Commandments Today?

The question comes to me, “If we are not under the Old Testament, which includes the Ten Commandments, does that mean we are no longer under the Ten Commandments?” You might be shocked, but yes, it certainly does.
Does that mean we can kill, steal, commit adultery, etc.? Certainly not, for laws about these are included in the New Testament, with the exception of one of the Ten Commandments –“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy” (Exodus 20:8 NKJV). That is why Christians no longer worship on Saturday – the Sabbath – but on Sunday – the Lord’s Day, the first day of the week and the resurrection day of our Lord, in honor of Him who died for us.
We have no command in the New Testament to obey the Sabbath Day and keep it holy, and yet, the other nine of the original Ten Commandments are there. This is no mistake, but instead, it is the will of God for man today.
Remember the words of the apostle Paul in Romans 7:4, which inform us that we are “dead to the law through the body of Christ.” In other words, when Christ died on the cross, the Old Testament Law (including the Ten Commandments) was taken out of the way (Colossians 2:14). “We have been delivered from the law” (Romans 7:6). Should you follow a law from which Christ has discharged you? Certainly not, and that’s why we follow the New Testament of Jesus Christ.
[Editor’s Note: It was always God’s intention to replace the Old Law with the New Covenant or Testament (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 8:8-13; Ephesians 3:9-11). The Old Testament prepared mankind for the coming of Jesus Christ. “Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor” (Galatians 3:24-25).
