Abiding in the Perfect Will of God

“Your law dominates my thoughts” (Psalm 40:8). Jesus said: “I have come to do your will, O God” (Psalm 40:8; Hebrews 10:7). Are we as committed to doing God’s will as our Lord Jesus was no matter what happens? He was committed to doing God’s will even when it meant leaving aside His throne and glory (and His Father’s bosom) and dying helpless and alone on the cross? Do we abide (remain) in His will? It simply takes a decision on our part, a commitment to make God’s will our only purpose for living on this earth. Once we make that decision, we’ll be very happy. Nothing is greater than being in the will of God. It is actually wonderful and glorious. The most blessed thing that God ever led me to see and understand from His Word was that I could know His perfect will for my life. I did not have to go in and out of His will; I could know it and abide in it all the time. Romans 12:1-2 says: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” This means that we have to voluntarily, willingly and consciously surrender ourselves wholly to God. 1.      Present/offer your bodies
The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come!”

“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. And whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:17). Testifying to the churches in Asia Minor in the Book of Revelation, and to His churches in general, Jesus said, “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last” (Revelation 22:12-13). Reading further in verses 14 and 15 we find: “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.” Jesus stated His Being and inherent authority in verses 12-13 and 16. He is the Supreme One, especially to His church or assembly of followers, those devoted to Him. It is through His people that He appeals to those who are spiritually thirsting. The invitation to “take the water of life freely” is for “whoever desires.” There has to be a thirsting and a desiring for things spiritual. Without a hungering, thirsting and desiring, one could never be satisfied. The deep emptiness people experience in spite of great worldly possession arises from being spiritually dry and barren. Jesus is one with His bride, the church. He is the Spirit inherent in His bride.

“Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations” (Psalm 100). I am eager to discuss Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, who loved us and died for us so that we may be saved from sin (and self). God has made us to sit in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6)! There were many doubts in my mind because life has been harsh and hard and difficult. However, thanks be to God Who has been my Shepherd (my everything) and has brought me to a place where I am learning to trust Him. He is teaching me many things as I walk with Him and talk to Him and seek His will, daily. The key is trusting God. Carefully consider the following from Jeremiah 17:5-8: Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited
