The Internet age has brought with it a lot of wonderful opportunities, and also it brings a lot of terrible ones. There are more and more ways to facilitate sin, as well as to cover it up. Lest we ever think that we can now do as we please with no consequences, remember that God knows and will hold us accountable (Ecclesiastes 12:14).
Can You Hide From God?

What was Jonah thinking?
The word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh the great city, and cry against it, for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to Joppa, found a ship which was going to Tarshish, paid the fare, and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. (Jonah 1:1-3)
What in the world would possess a prophet of God to think that he could hide from Him? What would make Jonah think that he could simply run from God to any place and expect God not to be there or be able to find him? Jonah was contemporary with Amos, but Jonah might not have read what Amos wrote (9:2-4). However, he did have the words of David (Psalm 139:7-12), which is more or less the same message that one cannot hide from God. There is nowhere anyone can go that God is not there or that He cannot see you. None can escape God, and there is no hiding place that will ever fool God – not even in the belly of a ship destined for a foreign land. God is there!
