God Is All powerful

Paul E Marty

Paul E. MartyWhen we think of God’s power, we think of the power to speak things into existence. We do not comprehend such power. Man has tried to duplicate it somewhat with technology, only to fall short over and over again.

For instance, with the iPhone, man speaks and Siri searches, but Siri doesn’t always get it right. Samsung phones have Bixby voice, but once again it falls short of what God can do.

However, let’s look at the first command in Scripture. “Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light” (Genesis 1:3 NKJV). That was the first time any being was recorded as speaking, and it was the voice of Almighty God.

Continuing to read the Genesis account of creation, we find, “God said… and it was so” (Genesis 1:9). Similarly, Psalm 33:9 records, “For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.”

God in the flesh had the power to speak things done as well. That’s right; I’m talking about Jesus. One such occasion pertained to the blind man at Jericho. “So Jesus answered and said to him, ‘What do you want Me to do for you?’ The blind man said to Him, ‘Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.’ Then Jesus said to him, ‘Go your way; your faith has made you well.’ And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road” (Mark 10:51-52). Lastly, God the Holy Spirit speaking through Peter told the lame man at the beautiful gate of the Temple to “rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6).

God is all powerful! Let us so acknowledge all three persons of the Godhead – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
