Average Guy
David Conley
- January – “My New Year’s resolution is to start attending worship services regularly. I will begin as soon as I get over the holidays.”
- February – “Wow! The weather is terrible! I’ll wait until the weather gets warmer.”
- March – “There sure has been a lot of sickness in the community. I’d better not start attending worship right now. I wouldn’t want to catch a cold.”
- April – “I’m sure no one will miss me at church since there will be plenty of attendance with the Easter crowd.”
- May – “I have been stuck indoors all winter long! I need to get away, and the weekends are the only time I have.”
- June – “Since I’m taking my vacation, I’ll start attending worship when I get back so I can be regular and won’t have to miss.”
- July – “Sure is hot! I’m sure they will not have the air conditioning regulated just right at the church building. I think I’ll wait until it cools off some.”
- August – “This is the time for the Gospel Meeting. I really don’t like visiting preachers. They don’t know us that well.”
- September – “I can’t believe all the work it takes to get the kids back in school. I’ll take them to church when they get settled into their new school schedule.”
- October - “You know how important the kids are to me. Since they are going to be stuck indoors all winter, I’d better take them up to the cabin before it turns too cold.”
- November – “Sure is getting colder! I’m sure they will not have the heat regulated just right at the church building. I don’t want to be too uncomfortable.”
- December – “Christmas shopping, parties, get-togethers, etc. I don’t have time for church right now, but I will make it my New Year’s resolution to start attending worship services regularly.”
Year after year it goes. Don’t be the “Average Guy”!
